In 1933, Doctor George Hatem, known in China as Ma Haide, came to Shanghai to study diseases without any expectation that this trip would completely change his life.

Since this year marks the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March victory, his son Zhou Youma recalled Hatem's days spent with the Red Army during that historic time, and what motivated his choices.
