A 600-meter section of a key road leading to the core area affected by a mudslide in Suichuan County, east China's Jiangxi Province, was blocked. After 15 hours of nonstop emergency work, 35 rescue personnel using excavators and loaders cleared the route around 11 p.m. on September 6, drastically cutting response time for incoming rescue teams and equipment.
