China and Mexico have become mutually beneficial partners and stand as an active force for upholding international peace, fairness and justice, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during talks with his Mexican counterpart in Beijing on Monday.

China consistently views and advances its ties with Mexico from a strategic perspective of solidarity and cooperation among Global South countries, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said to Roberto Velasco Alvarez, Mexico's secretary of foreign affairs.

The Chinese side appreciates Mexico's longstanding and firm commitment to the one‑China principle, Wang said.

He said that China supports Mexico in upholding its independence, sovereignty and security and opposing foreign interference.

"The China-Mexico relationship does not target any third party, nor should it be subject to influence from any third party," Wang added.
