Multiple airports in Indonesia, including Jakarta's primary hub Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, reopened on Tuesday after being temporarily shut down due to the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

The volcano, situated in the Sunda Strait, erupted violently on September 4, spewing dense ash columns kilometers into the sky and drifting toward major aviation corridors.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, the ash-induced disruptions grounded hundreds of flights and affected more than 340,000 air passengers nationwide.
