US claims sinking 'floating refueling station' of drug traffickers

The US Southern Command claimed in a press release on Monday that its Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere forces had interdicted "a floating refueling station supporting illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations in the eastern Pacific."

It said it had sunk the vessel and the people removed from it would be transferred to Ecuadorian authorities. The footage's date or location could not be independently verified.
