This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March.

From October 1934 to October 1936, the Red Army, the forerunner of today's People's Liberation Army (PLA), carried out the historic Long March – a massive strategic retreat and military maneuver undertaken amid intense fighting during the Chinese civil war.

More than a military retreat, the Long March became a defining chapter in the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), helping preserve the revolutionary forces at a critical juncture and laying the groundwork for the subsequent development of the Chinese revolution. It has since come to symbolize perseverance, courage and an unwavering commitment to a common goal.
