The US Central Command shrugged off reports Iranian forces had hit its warships operating in the Middle East and said all attempted attacks had failed, in a post on X on Wednesday.
"Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces have claimed they struck two US Navy destroyers operating in the Middle East. This is completely FALSE," US CENTCOM said.
"Meanwhile, US forces have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian tankers in just the last week. These vessels were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC, and Iran cannot defend them," the US regional military added.
