37 boatmen, 6 boats, 7 days: How the Red Army crossed the Jinsha River?

It was one of the most critical moments in the Long March. In May 1935, after months of grueling travel, the Red Army arrived at the Jinsha River — a major natural barrier on its journey north. At Jiaoping Ferry, 37 local boatmen and six wooden boats played a crucial role in helping more than 30,000 Red Army soldiers cross the river.
