A fire broke out aboard the passenger ferry MV June Aster off the coast of Palawan, western Philippines, killing at least five people and leaving dozens missing. The ferry was carrying 134 people, including 17 crew members. So far, 43 people have been rescued, with 87 people still missing. Rough seas and strong currents have hampered rescue efforts.
