Openness in action: CIFTIS health service section boosts global cooperation

The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) continues to attract international visitors, with more than 100 new products and services making their debut, covering fields such as intelligent healthcare, information and communications, and fintech.

Expanding International Participation

Running through September 13 at Shougang Park, a former industrial site and venue for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the fair has drawn participants from 90 countries, regions and international organizations, with over 1,830 companies exhibiting on-site, including 473 Fortune Global 500 or industry-leading companies. The Health Services section, now in its sixth consecutive year as a core CIFTIS section, covers 7,500 square meters, with its internationalization rate reaching 56.6%.

Strong Industry Concentration

This year's CIFTIS debuts the Future Medical Technology Industry Frontier Exhibition Zone, bringing together eight specialized and sophisticated enterprises in precision medicine and cell therapy, providing a dedicated growth stage for tech-driven small and medium-sized enterprises. A total of 22 renowned domestic and international companies are exhibiting for the first time, while industry giants like GE Healthcare, AstraZeneca and Tong Ren Tang continue to showcase their latest technologies, with multiple cutting-edge products making global debuts.

Norway, the guest country of honor, has established a national pavilion of approximately 260 square meters at Shougang Park, covering marine industries, health, energy, digital services and more, with activities including corporate pitches, themed seminars and China-Norway trade promotion.

During the fair, Norway, France, Australia, the World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Trade Center Association will host more than 20 promotion events. The 2026 World Conference on Traditional Medicine, to be held in Beijing in October, was also promoted during the fair, which showcased how Beijing's medical institutions are using robots to improve patient care.

Guangxi, the guest province of honor, has upgraded its comprehensive pavilion designed as a premier window for China-ASEAN digital trade cooperation. Themed around utilizing digital intelligence to link with ASEAN, the fully immersive space highlights achievements in artificial intelligence, traditional Chinese medicine and wellness, and cross-border logistics. In 2025, Guangxi's total services imports and exports reached nearly $3.4 billion, up 22% year on year, maintaining growth above 20% for three consecutive years.
