Chinese airline to resume Guangzhou-New Delhi direct route

China Southern Airlines plans to officially resume the direct passenger flight route linking Guangzhou and New Delhi, the capital of India, starting from September 21. The move marks a restart of the carrier's direct flights between the two cities after a six-year suspension.

The airlines announced on Saturday that Boeing 737 series aircraft will service the one daily flight. The outbound flight CZ359 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 3:35 pm local time and arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 7 pm local time. The return flight CZ360 will depart from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 8:20 pm and arrive at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 4:15 am the following day.

Experts believe the resumption of this service will facilitate trade between China and India, as well as provide significant convenience for tourists and international students. Additionally, it will enhance the efficiency and accessibility of transit for travelers. Passengers arriving in Guangzhou from New Delhi can connect to popular international and domestic destinations, including Melbourne, Sydney and Shanghai.

China Southern is the third major Chinese carrier to resume flights between the two countries, following Air China and China Eastern Airlines. In April, Air China resumed its direct route linking Beijing and Delhi, marking the first restart of direct flights between the two capitals in nearly six years.
