BREAKING NEWS
Bahraini MFA: 'The Ministry reiterates the Kingdom’s firm position that any arrangement regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz must be based on the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and endorsed by the International Maritime Organization. Such arrangements must safeguard the right of transit passage for all vessels—without discrimination, fees, or permit requirements—and involve all GCC states, given the direct link between the security of the waterway and the security of their own supplies. The Ministry affirms that the Kingdom of Bahrain, by virtue of its membership in the UN Security Council and its commitment to joint Gulf action, will continue to work through legal and diplomatic channels to uphold freedom of navigation and regional security. It stands ready to support any arrangement that is based on the rule of law and enjoys consensus. '
