'Stand up to the bully': Canada's ex-PM backs tariff fight

Former Canadian PM Jean Chrétien has thrown his weight behind Canada's dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs, telling CBC: "We have to stand up" to the " bully." Despite the size gap, Chrétien said the tariffs will hurt the US as much as Canada. He mocked Washington for being "out of arguments," calling President Donald Trump's executive order rebranding Lake Ontario as Lake America "cheap and nasty." Trump's constant threats were getting him nowhere, Chrétien added – and making him more unpopular by the day, as Americans wake up to the fact they're paying the price.
