China's 134.2-kilometer-long Pinglu Canal officially opened to navigation in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Wednesday, offering a more direct water route from southwest China to the Beibu Gulf.

Next to the Youth Hub, a hub directly handling river-sea interchange, a dual-channel fishway about 480 meters long, integrating a "vertical slot + eel passage" design, has been built. It not only helps upstream and downstream migrating fish find their migration route but also allows them to rest along the way.
