Excavation begins on China's deepest machine-dug water shaft in Shanghai

Work has begun on a 44.96-meter-deep shaft in Shanghai – the deepest of its kind dug by machine in China. It is being bored by "Kaituo," a machine built in China. Kaituo uses undrained excavation and precise settlement control, allowing it to work safely in dense urban areas and improve drainage in the surrounding district.
