A local NBC news helicopter crashed in a Los Angeles neighborhood on Tuesday, bursting into flames and killing at least three people, officials said. 

The station's chopper went down just before 7 p.m. while its crew was covering a separate crash involving an SUV and a city bus. 

An NBC4 Los Angeles anchor confirmed the loss during a live broadcast.
