With the Mid-Autumn Festival – a Chinese holiday synonymous with mooncakes – driving peak demand for the seasonal treat, matcha industry hub Sinan in Guizhou has created an innovative mooncake that blends the local powdered green tea with traditional ham.
The signature mooncake is the result of dozens of experiments with formulas. Its crust is blended with locally grown ecological matcha powder, while the filling combines premium Xuanwei ham with winter melon paste, creating a well-balanced and delicate taste.
These unique mooncakes, which can be bought online or in stores, have reached major markets like Beijing, Shanghai and the Greater Bay Area thanks to a collaboration between China's eastern and western regions, winning widespread recognition from consumers nationwide.
