Airbus China COO Erik Buschmann put Tianjin on a par with Germany's Hamburg, France's Toulouse and the US city of Mobile after the the company's assembly line in the north Chinese municipality delivered its first A320 aircraft on Wednesday.

Buschmann said Tianjin builds high-quality aircraft on time, pointing to "Chinese speed," and said Airbus wants to see what innovations it can adapt for its aircraft.

The new final assembly line took just over three years to go from signing to first delivery.
