Golden rice terraces stretch across the landscape of Ceheng County in southwest China's Guizhou Province as the autumn harvest gets underway in September. Bathed in sunlight, the terraces form sweeping waves of gold across the hillsides, resembling giant "fingerprints" etched into the earth. As the rice ripens, heavy ears bend the stalks and the fragrance of freshly matured grain fills the air.

Taking advantage of the fine autumn weather, local farmers are working to bring in the rice and ensure the harvest is safely stored. Their busy figures move through the golden fields, marking the arrival of another season of abundance.
