Chile's Nevados de Chillan volcanic complex produced a new eruptive pulse on Friday, sending a column rich in pyroclastic material 380 meters above the crater, according to the country's National Geology and Mining Service. The material dispersed southward.
Authorities maintained a yellow technical alert and a 1-kilometer security perimeter around the active crater, saying the activity remained within the expected parameters for the alert level.
