This is a global music relay built around the Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower. It began with a young American's viola and has since grown to include piano, cello, children's ensemble, pipa, guzheng, yangqin, vocal harmonies, xiao, and erhu. Today, the dizi – a Chinese bamboo flute – becomes the 11th voice. Bright and clear, like a bird through morning mist, or wind through bamboo groves, Jasmine Flower gains a new lightness.
East and West meet in one song – because music needs no translation.
