Tigrino, a 10-year-old wild cat living at the Senda Verde Wildlife Sanctuary in Coroico, Bolivia, was filmed on Saturday after scientists formally identified his species as Leopardus tilcayo, the first new living cat species described in more than a century.
He is the only known individual of the species under permanent human care. Researchers say the small spotted cat is native to Bolivia's Yungas cloud forest, where deforestation and mining threaten its habitat.
