More than 60 white-naped cranes, a nationally first-class protected species, have arrived in Horqin Right Wing Central Banner, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, during their southward migration. The cranes are feeding in local farmland and are expected to stay for about two weeks before continuing south. As a key stopover along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, Hinggan League has strengthened habitat restoration, bird monitoring and patrols. A three-level ecological ranger system also helps protect migratory birds during their journey.
