Chinese animation has undergone significant growth over the past 15 years, according to Egyptian filmmaker and animator Mohamed Ghazala, a jury member at the 13th Silk Road International Film Festival and vice president of the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA). In an interview with CGTN, he highlights how Chinese animators draw on their own culture, history and artistic traditions while developing modern storytelling, arguing that deeply local stories can also connect with audiences around the world.
