Harvest season brings China's countryside to life

The 2026 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival will be held in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. Known as a major grain-producing area in northern Hubei, the city is using the festival to put its farm produce in the spotlight.

Across the country, villages will mark the season with harvest displays, farmers' markets and local food fairs. Visitors can pick up regional specialties and learn about traditional farming culture. Some events will also combine food, tourism and culture and sports, turning the harvest season into a chance to explore the countryside.
