Beneath the Jishuitan Bridge in central Beijing, a nearly 100-meter-long underwater glass walkway has become an unexpected attraction. Through the transparent walls, visitors can watch fish, shrimp and river snails moving through the water. It offers a close-up view of a river that many people once passed without noticing.

The space was once a dark and overlooked corner beneath the bridge. A small-scale renovation has turned it into part of a riverside walkway, as well as a space for public recreation and environmental education. The project is part of Beijing's efforts to improve existing urban spaces through small-scale renovation projects.
