Five years ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative (GDI) via video at the general debate of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 21, 2021.

Since its launch, the GDI has received support from more than 130 countries and international organizations, and implemented over 2,000 cooperation projects, contributing to global development and the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
