They come from different places, play different instruments, and barely know one another. Yet music brings them together in China.

On July 12, 2026, 24 young US musicians arrived in Changzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province, beginning a 12-day journey across China. From hearing traditional Chinese instruments live for the first time to performing Jasmine Flower and You Raise Me Up alongside Chinese students, they searched for a shared rhythm through rehearsals, performances and everyday encounters. In a matter of days, strangers become collaborators, and music becomes more than a performance – it becomes a way to communicate and understand one another.

In Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, they reflected on a shared history dating back 85 years. In Shanghai and Beijing, they continued their musical conversations with a new generation. Along the way, their journey resonates with musical exchanges between China and the United States starting more than half a century ago, connecting landmark moments of the past with encounters between young people today.
