Qinggangpo in Zunyi, southwest China’s Guizhou Province, witnessed a fierce battle in January 1935 during the Long March.

On rugged, hilly terrain, outnumbered and facing heavy enemy fire, Red Army soldiers fought bravely to hold off the pursuing forces. Many revolutionary martyrs sacrificed their lives here. The brutal battle was critical to securing the Red Army's strategic shift and laid the groundwork for the military maneuvers that followed – the Four Crossings of the Chishui River. 

Today, the Qinggangpo Battle Site preserves trenches, memorials and exhibition halls. It serves as a patriotic education base, keeping alive the memory of the soldiers' fearless spirit. Visitors come to honour the martyrs and learn about this pivotal chapter of the Long March. The site stands as a lasting tribute to their courage and devotion.
