China will host the Xiongan Global Governance Forum in late October in Xiongan New Area, north China's Hebei Province, according to the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced in May that China will host the forum when he attended a meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said back then that China looks forward to developing ideas for reforming and improving global governance together with all parties in Xiongan New Area, the "city of the future."
