China launched the Yaogan-40 04 satellite group from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Thursday.

The satellites were launched at 4:46 p.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-6A carrier rocket and entered their designated orbit.

The satellite group will be used primarily for electromagnetic environment detection and related technology tests.

The mission marked the 670th flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
