The 2026 Beijing Animation Festival opened on September 24 at the Beijing Exhibition Center, bringing together over 30 Chinese animation companies and institutions.

Under the theme "AI Animation in Beijing: Moving the Industry Forward," the event explores innovation in animation production, technology and international communication. Popular Chinese animation characters and franchises are also being showcased alongside themed exhibitions.
