Last year marked the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025), and plans for the country's development over the next five years are taking shape. Beijing's 12345 Public Service Hotline has upheld the same principle throughout: putting people first. It has expanded the platform's capabilities and built a system that responds quickly, handles complaints efficiently, reports back and acts before problems grow.

"Swift Response to Public Complaints" is Beijing's rapid-response system for public demands, built around the 12345 hotline. A call from a resident becomes a list of tasks for the government. From answering the phone and dispatching the right teams to resolving the issue and following up, departments at every level move quickly and complete tasks on time.

One hotline, driving real change in how a megacity is run. Every urgent, difficult, worrying or long-awaited problem gets heard, gets handled and gets resolved.
