Chinese VP voices China's readiness to push for sound, steady growth of China-Bulgaria ties

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said Thursday that China is willing to push for the sound, steady development of relations with Bulgaria.

Han made the remarks during talks with Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Han conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings and best wishes. He said that although Bulgaria and China are far apart, traditional friendship and mutual benefit have always been the defining feature of bilateral relations.

Han said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, mutual trust between the two countries has continued to deepen, and practical cooperation in various fields has progressed steadily.

He voiced China's readiness to continue strengthening high-level exchanges with Bulgaria, consolidating political mutual trust, and accommodating each other's core interests and major concerns.

Highlighting fruitful cooperation in areas such as agriculture, information and communications, and auto parts manufacturing, Han noted that China is willing to continue to deepen exchanges with Bulgaria in fields such as youth, education, culture and tourism, promote people-to-people connectivity, strengthen multilateral coordination, and deliver more cooperation outcomes to benefit the two peoples.

Iotova asked Han to convey her sincere greetings to Xi. She said that Bulgaria treasures its traditional friendship with China and that bilateral relations have maintained a sound and steady momentum for development in recent years.

She said that Bulgaria hopes to further promote high-level exchanges between the two countries, expand cooperation in fields such as electric vehicles, high-end manufacturing, and telecommunications, promote sustained growth in bilateral trade, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and translate more practical cooperation outcomes into tangible results, thereby continuously enriching the substance of the Bulgaria-China strategic partnership.
