After the welcome ceremony for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House, hosted by US President Donald Trump on Thursday morning, CGTN's Yang Xinmeng went to Georgetown University in Washington to hear what young Americans think.

AI was top of mind. Students called for China and the US to cooperate rather than drift towards an AI arms race.

Trade was just as much on their minds – choices and prices. "How many times do you look at a label and see 'Made in China'?" one student asked.

And, of course, people-to-people exchanges. The initiative to give 100,000 young Americans a chance to visit China was met enthusiastically.
