China and the United States agreed to establish a dialogue on artificial intelligence (AI) to exchange views on AI-related risks and benefits. The two sides also agreed to establish a communication channel for AI-related incidents.

China and the US are both leading AI development and could deepen cooperation to make AI benefit all, said Steve Hoffman, a prominent Silicon Valley venture capitalist and chairman & CEO of Founders Space, in an interview with China Media Group (CMG).

After years of AI investment, Hoffman sees AI safety, healthcare, climate change and new energy production as promising areas for bilateral collaboration.
