Jinggangshan, in Jiangxi Province in eastern China, is known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution. In 1927, the Communist Party of China (CPC) established its first rural revolutionary base here, marking an important step in the Party's exploration of a revolutionary path suited to China's conditions. 

The experience gained in Jinggangshan later became an important part of the revolutionary history that preceded the Long March. Today, more than 90 years later, its revolutionary sites and landscapes offer a glimpse into the early years of China's revolution and the history behind the Long March.
