The award ceremony for the 21st UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy was held on Monday at the Confucius Research Institute in Qufu City, east China's Shandong Province. Three projects were awarded the prize, including the "Accelerated Education for Out-of-School Displaced Youth in Lebanon Programme."

Laura Miucci-Casale, an officer with Alsama Project in Lebanon, shared with CGTN her understanding of Confucius's educational philosophy: that every child around the world should have the opportunity to access education. She said at the 2026 China International Confucius Culture Festival, that as an educator working in Lebanon, she found it all deeply inspiring.
