Some leave Jingdezhen to learn, then return with a new craft. Others travel halfway across the world, turning the volcanoes, plants and colors of Réunion Island into porcelain. And some leave an entirely different career behind to become ceramic artists.

Mei Linyu, Yann Colleu Witkowski and Liu Ouqing arrived in Jingdezhen from different directions. For each of them, making art has become a journey of its own – across places, materials and cultures, in search of something distinctly their own.
