SpaceX's Starship reached orbit for the first time during its 14th integrated test flight from Texas on Monday, despite an unexpected engine shutdown. After engineers cleared the spacecraft to continue, it completed an orbital insertion burn and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites.

The mission was shortened from about 10 hours to three. Starship later made a controlled descent into the Pacific Ocean, where it tipped over and was engulfed in fire after splashdown. SpaceX had not planned to recover the spacecraft.
