Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi said Monday that Japan would not rule out any options as it considers whether to acquire nuclear weapons and nuclear-powered submarines as part of revisions to the country's key security documents. When asked for comment on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that Japan is a non-nuclear-weapon state party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and that there is no room for bargaining.
