China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) has decided to extend the investigation periods of two trade barrier investigations into US practices and measures to December 27, 2026, according to two announcements recently released by the ministry.

In accordance with China's Foreign Trade Law and its rules on foreign trade barrier investigations, the MOFCOM issued Announcements No. 17 and No. 18 of 2026 on March 27, launching trade barrier investigations into US practices and measures that disrupt global industrial and supply chains, and those that hinder trade in green products, respectively.

In view of the complexity of the cases, and pursuant to Article 32 of China's rules on foreign trade barrier investigations, the ministry decided to extend the investigation periods of both cases to December 27, 2026.
