South-South cooperation can open new opportunities for the Global South, according to Dan Banik, professor at the University of Oslo. He added that major Global South countries are no longer "rule takers" but "rule shapers" and "rule makers," and spoke of greater cooperation and knowledge sharing across the Global South.
