China completed its domination of the diving events at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday, sweeping all 10 golds on offer and clinching the nation's 100th all-time title in the sport at the continental competition. The milestone medal was claimed by Olympic champion Lian Junjie in the men's 10-meter platform.

The final came down to a battle between Lian, 15-year-old Chinese compatriot Zhao Renjie and Japan's Rikuto Tamai. Zhao, making his Asian Games debut, got off to an eye-catching start. The teenager scored 86.40 and 91.80 points on his opening two dives, before receiving 96.90 points for his third, with the judges awarding several perfect 10s.

But the 25-year-old Lian battled back to take the lead after his fourth and fifth dives, scoring 91.80 points on both to finish with 501.25 points and grab the gold. Japan's Tamai finished just 4.05 points behind Lian to snatch silver. Zhao committed two costly mistakes on his fourth and fifth dives, but still picked up bronze with 427.50 points.
