A pair of straw sandals carried a love story through the Long March. Chunxiu made them for her fiancé, Xie Zhijian, who wore them only twice during the 25,000-li journey. Years later when he returned home, he found she had been killed. The sandals survived, preserving a love separated by war and history. Zhong Xueyan, the museum guide of the Yudu History Museum of the Central Red Army's Departure for the Long March, shared the story of this special pair of straw sandals with CGTN.
