Fireworks lit up the skies over Shanghai and Wuhan on October 1 as China celebrated the National Day holiday.

In Shanghai, a drone and fireworks show played out over Wusongkou – 1,000 drones bringing scenes from the classic Chinese animation "Nezha Conquers the Dragon King" to life.

In Wuhan, a fireworks show ran more than 40 minutes along the Yangtze River, drawing tens of thousands who gathered to watch through the rain.
