Ninety years since the Long March, the land the Red Army crossed looks nothing like it did.
In Minxian County, Dingxi City, in northwest China's Gansu Province, terraced fields follow the contours of the mountains – bands of yellow and green across the loess ravines.
Crops hang heavy in the fields, moving in waves when the wind picks up. Green hills stand alongside memorials on the route. The land gives its bounty where the Red Army walked.
