China's first deepwater oilfield, Liuhua Oilfied, has produced 2 million tonnes of crude oil since its secondary development project fully commenced operation in 2025. Located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, the project comprises two oilfields, Liuhua 11-1 and 4-1, with 32 production wells in waters averaging 305 meters deep.
