DR Congo's Ebola outbreak is easing, with no new cases reported for weeks in 12 of 63 affected health zones, health authorities said on Friday. The outbreak has killed 4,018 people among 8,300 confirmed cases across seven provinces. Another 2,162 patients have recovered. Authorities said cases are now confined to specific zones after intensified containment efforts. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo strain, has no approved vaccines or treatments.
