China recorded nearly 3 million charging sessions for new energy vehicles on its expressways during the first three days of the National Day holiday, which runs from October 1 to 7, with charging infrastructure operating smoothly amid strong demand.

From 12:00 a.m. on October 1 to midnight on October 3, a total of 2.9686 million charging sessions were recorded at 62,700 charging facilities monitored by the national charging infrastructure service platform.

The daily average reached 989,500 charging sessions, up 48.41% from the same period of last year's National Day holiday.

Total electricity consumption for charging reached 71.62 million kilowatt-hours, averaging 23.87 million kilowatt-hours per day, an increase of 49.39% year on year.

The figures highlight the continued growth in electric vehicle use for holiday travel in China and the growing share of green mobility during major holidays.
